Triaspis mozambica A. Juss.

Extremities slender, terete, glabrous, ashen-grey, about the thickness of a crow-quill, with long internodes; at first with a deciduous rusty pubescence. Leaves opposite, elliptical, very shortly apiculate, rounded at the base, glabrous, rather firmly membranous or slightly fleshy, with obscure venation, about 2 in. long by 1-1 1/4 in. broad in the only specimen seen. Flowers in terminal panicles; pedicels slender, in few-flowered umbels, with a pair of minute, subopposite, ovate-anceolate bracteoles below or near the middle, pilose as is also the base of the calyx. Lamina of the petals fimbriate below. Dorsal wing of the nuts deeply 2-fid above, 3/4-1 in. long and broad, with radiating anastomosing nervures.
