an ornamental shrub with rather small glabrous elliptic pointed opposite leaves, bright yellow petals and red filaments, and small unwinged 3-locular fruits, is cultivated in Kenya (e.g. Nairobi Arboretum, G. R. Williams 453), Tanganyika (e.g. Amani, G. R. Williams 654) and Zanzibar (U.O.P.Z.: 270(1949)).
