Description: 
Shrubs, undershrubs or half-climbing shrubs. Leaves alternate, petiolate, simple, ovate or lanceolate, entire or sparsely serrate, glabrous or pubescent. Capitula disciform, small, aggregated into globose glomerules in terminal corymbs. Involucral bracts 3: 1 subtending and 2 opposite. Receptacle wart-like with strongly conduplicate, apically 3-lobed paleae. Marginal florets 2, female, filiform. Disc florets 2 or 4, functionally male. Anthers caudate. Cypselas elliptic or obcordate, +/-triquetrous. Pappus of 2-4 stout setae.
Distribution: 
Species 15, Old World tropics; sthn trop. Afr. 2, Angola (Cabinda), Mozambique.
