Description: 
Perennial herbs. Leaves alternate, sessile, linear, decurrent. Capitula radiate, solitary, sessile on branchlets and overtopped by subtending leaves. Involucre campanulate; bracts in 7 rows, oblong, with wide, membranous margins and ovate, membranous apex ending in awn. Receptacle flat, paleate; paleae flattened. Rayflorets female; corolla yellow, minutely 3-toothed. Discflorets bisexual, fertile; corolla yellow; tube somewhat narrowing upwards, deeply lobed. Anthers long-calcarate, shortly caudate; with lanceolate, apical appendage; endothecial tissue polarised. Style branches with acute sweeping hairs not reaching below furcation. Cypselas villous. Pappus of bristle-like scales.

Monotypic, endemic to sthn Afr.: Ondetia linearis Benth., Namibia.
