Description: 
Perennial herbs. Leaves alternate, linear. Capitula homogamous, fairly small, crowded, corymbose. Receptacle conxex, paleate. Florets purple. Cypselas cylindric, 5-angular. Pappus a short, denticulate corona.
Distribution: 
Monotypic: Omphalopappus newtonii O.Hoffm., only recorded from Angola.
