Lax shrub or shrublet with twining branchlet tips; stems whitish-grey- or yellowish-sericeous (younger ones densely so, the older ones less dense or almost glabrous). Leaves opposite, petiolate; lamina 1.2-3 x 0.5-1.5 cm., lanceolate, ovate-lanceolate or ovate-oblong, apex subobtuse or sometimes acute and distinctly apiculate, base cuneate or rounded, with 2 sessile or shortly stalked glands on the margin near the insertion of the petiole, upper surface usually glabrous except the edges and sometimes the midrib which are bright yellowish-sericeous and purplish, lower surface sparsely yellowish-sericeous or (usually except the edges) almost glabrous, finely reticulate and greyish-green or glaucous; petiole 2-7 mm. long, +/- densely sericeous; stipules 1.5-5 mm. long, obovate or obovate-oblong, shortly apiculate, deciduous. Umbels 2-6-flowered; bracts broadly ovate, 2-3 mm. long; bracteoles linear, c. 1 mm. long. Flowers 1.5-2 cm. in diam. Sepals 2-3 mm. long, ovate-lanceolate, obtuse, sericeous outside. Petals 7-10 mm. long, canary yellow, subcircular or ovate, shortly unguiculate, entire or +/- crisped. Stamens with anthers c. 1 mm. long, broad-elliptic, glabrous; filaments subulate, c. 2.5 mm. long. Ovary densely sericeous; styles about 4-5 mm. long. Samara with wing 1 .6-2 x 1 .2-1.5 cm., obliquely and broadly ovate, extending to the base of the nut, sericeous or almost glabrous.
